패션디자이너인 건물주 부부는 연남동만이 지닌 자유롭고 감각적인 분위기에 자연스럽게 끌렸습니다. 골목마다 세계 각국의 요리를 선보이는 개성 있는 레스토랑이 자리하고, 그 사이사이에는 아기자기한 소품 숍과 디자이너들의 공방이 모여 있어 일상 속에서도 끊임없이 영감을 받을 수 있는 동네라고 느꼈습니다. 바쁘게 흘러가는 도시의 리듬 속에서도 자신들만의 속도로 라이프스타일을 즐길 수 있을 것이라는 확신이 들었습니다.
무엇보다 큰 매력은 반려견과 함께 여유롭게 산책할 수 있는 공원이 가까이 있다는 점이었습니다. 초록이 살아 있는 산책로와 사람들의 온기가 어우러진 풍경은, 한 번도 살아본 적 없는 동네임에도 불구하고 오래전부터 알고 지낸 곳처럼 편안하게 다가왔습니다. 그렇게 연남동은 이들 부부에게 ‘처음이지만 낯설지 않은’ 새로운 보금자리로 자리 잡게 되었습니다.
The building-owner couple, both fashion designers, were naturally drawn to the free-spirited and sensorial atmosphere unique to Yeonnam-dong. Each alley is lined with distinctive restaurants offering cuisines from around the world, while charming little shops and designers’ studios are tucked in between, making it a neighborhood where inspiration flows effortlessly through everyday life. Even within the fast-paced rhythm of the city, they felt confident they could enjoy their own lifestyle at their own pace.
Above all, the greatest appeal was the nearby park where they could enjoy leisurely walks with their dog. The scenery—where lush greenery and the warmth of the local community come together—felt comforting and familiar, despite it being a neighborhood they had never lived in before. In this way, Yeonnam-dong became a new home for the couple: a place that felt “new, yet never unfamiliar.”
